Maroon Bells Reflection from Crater Lake 1
The Maroon Bells near Aspen, two of Colorado's 14,000' peaks, are arguably the most photographed peaks in Colorado. Most of the time, these two majestic summits are shot from Maroon Lake. Just up the trail, however, lies Crater Lake. Just over two miles from Maroon Lake, this area is usually free of people and offers opportunities to photograph the Bells with stunning reflections in still, shallow water. Seen here in late September, the jagged peaks rise into the clear blue morning while the reflection of golden aspen shimmer in the cold water. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
