Last Light over Mesa Lake 708-1
Mesa Lake sits well above 10,000’ in elevation high up on the Grand Mesa. This view comes after a long drive up the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway starting in the town of Mesa. Then after a short drive down an unmarked dirt road, a hike over a few snow drifts and up a steep, wooded forest ended at this rocky overlook. To the west, the mesa dropped back into the valley where Palisade and Grand Junction sit. Mesa Lake, as well as the group of Mesa Lakes, rest a few hundred feet below, surrounded in pine and aspen. A little after sunset, the colors in the evening sky made for a lasting memory. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
