Beaver Village - Bygone Days 1
Winter Park, Colorado
This photograph shows the old Beaver Village Lodge - one of the mainstays for many years in the resort town of Winter Park, Colorado. Thirty years ago while I was in college, a friend and I worked here one summer as maintenance men. The irony is we knew nothing about maintenance work.
At the time of this writing, this old building is scheduled to be torn down to make way for more upscale and modern (and expensive) lodging. I hate to see this lodge go, as it was the first landmark I'd see each time I drove into town. And while it will be gone, the memories of all who stayed here (and worked here) will remain.
